Footage and privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
The Player Standard is an online tactical coaching and video analysis service for competitive youth soccer players, ages 12 to 18. It is run by me, Erik McCue, an individual based in Örebro, Sweden. In this policy, "I" means me.
For privacy questions and requests, email [email protected].
The short version
- I collect only what I need to review your player's footage and coach them.
- I review the footage myself.
- I never sell it or reuse it for anything else.
- Any public use of a player's footage needs your separate written consent.
- You can ask me to delete your data at any time.
What I collect
- The application form (Tally). Parent name, parent email, player first name, player age (12 to 18), your interest in the founding offer or a paid tier, and one consent checkbox, which includes that I give no guarantee of results, playing time or offers. To reply to you, send your analysis, arrange your call and know whose film I am watching.
- What you want help with. The "what to work on" answer in the application. To focus the analysis.
- Footage, as a file or a link. To review it and give tactical analysis.
- Call summaries. After each call I send a short written summary. Calls are not recorded.
- Phone number. Elite Development only: a phone number for direct WhatsApp or text messaging with me. I collect it after you join, not on the application form, and use it only for that.
- WhatsApp messages, Elite Development only. To answer questions between calls.
- Payment details and email. Stripe collects these when you pay. I do not see or store card numbers. I email the payment link after I accept an application.
- Scheduling details. To arrange calls.
I do not ask for anything else. If I add a field later, I will update this policy first.
The website sets no cookies. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless, to count visits. It also uses your browser's session storage once, to remember that you have seen the intro animation. That does not track you.
Why I use it, and the legal basis
I use your data to review footage, give feedback, arrange and hold calls, take payment, and answer your questions.
The legal basis for each use is: consent from the parent or guardian, and what I need to do to deliver the service they ordered.
Who handles it
I see your player's footage and your details. Some tools handle data for me:
- Application form: Tally.
- Footage upload and storage: Google Drive. After I accept your application, I email you a private link to a separate private folder for your player.
- Video calls: Google Meet. Calls are not recorded. After each call I send a short written summary.
- Payments (payment details and email when you pay): Stripe.
- Messaging, Elite Development only: WhatsApp Business.
- Email: Cloudflare Email Routing and Gmail.
- Website hosting and visit counts: Cloudflare.
Where this data is stored: with the providers I use (Google Drive, Tally, Stripe, Cloudflare and Gmail), on their servers, which may be in the European Union or the United States.
I do not sell your data. I do not share it for advertising.
How long I keep it
- Footage is used only for your player's coaching analysis.
- I keep footage while you are an active client.
- You cancel a monthly plan by emailing [email protected] before the next monthly charge. I delete footage within 30 days of cancellation. I delete it sooner if you ask.
- Match Analysis is a one time purchase. I delete the footage 30 days after I deliver your analysis. I delete it sooner if you ask.
- Calls are not recorded, so no recordings exist. Written call summaries are kept as long as the footage.
- Payment and billing records: As long as bookkeeping law requires me to keep them, currently 7 years in Sweden. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
- Parent email and player details: While you are a client and for 30 days after you cancel, then I delete them.
Deleting your data
Email [email protected] and ask. I will delete your player's footage and details. It takes up to 14 days.
Some records may have to be kept by law. These are: billing and bookkeeping records.
Public use of footage
Any footage of a player used publicly needs your separate written consent for that specific use. That includes a testimonial, a sample clip or marketing. Agreeing to this policy is not that consent.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data I hold about you or your player. Where your local law gives you more rights, I respect them to the extent they apply to me.
To ask, email [email protected].
Children's privacy
This service is for players ages 12 to 18. I deal with the parent or guardian.
Players under 13. I deal only with the parent or guardian. They send the footage, give consent and receive every message. I do not collect personal data directly from a child, and a parent is always in the thread. The parent or guardian gives consent by ticking the consent box on the application form when they send it, before I review any footage.
Players 13 to 17. The parent or guardian still signs up, pays and gives consent by ticking the same consent box on the application form. Parents are welcome on every call. For Elite Development, a parent is always in the WhatsApp thread for players under 18.
Players who turn 18. From their 18th birthday the player becomes the customer and gives consent themselves. I ask them to confirm it in writing.
Moving data between countries
I am based in Sweden. Most families are in the United States. Data moves between Sweden, the European Union and the United States through the tools above. I rely on those providers' own data protection terms and I keep access limited to me.
Security
Each client's footage is in its own private Google Drive folder. Only I have access, and I use two step sign in on my accounts.
If I learn that your data was exposed in a way that could harm you, I email the parent or guardian within 72 hours of learning it.
Changes to this policy
I update the date at the top and email active clients.
